WVU’s advanced heart failure team was the first to implant the wireless sensor in a patient in the state, according to a Jan. 9 release announcing the institute’s participation in the study. Several other patients at the institute have undergone placement of the device since.
The team at WVU involved in the study includes Ramesh Daggubati, MD, interim cardiology chief for the Heart and Vascular Institute. The other physicians on the team are Affan Haleem, MD; Marco Caccamo, DO; Christopher Bianco, DO; and Kevin Felpel, DO.
