Wayne State University names Dr. Samuel Johnson chair of radiology

Samuel Johnson, MD, has been appointed chair of radiology at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit.

Dr. Johnson has served as interim department chair since January 2020, according to a Feb. 9 news release from the university. He joined Wayne State in 1990 as a member of its faculty and section chief of ultrasound.

Dr. Johnson went on to serve as course director of radiologic anatomy for first-year medical students from 2003 to 2017. He has also served as acting director of the clerkship in radiology for third- and fourth-year medical students at Wayne State.
