Dr. Sugarman died at Camp 2, about 21,000 feet above sea level, after he began to feel unwell, according to the report.
Dr. Sugarman was a clinical professor of global health and family medicine at Seattle-based University of Washington and served as the CEO of Global to Local, a Seattle-based nonprofit aimed to advance health equity. He also served for nearly 20 years as president and CEO of Qualis Health, another Seattle-based nonprofit.
