Dr. Berlin has served in the role in the interim for six months before his official appointment, according to a Feb. 6 release from VUMC. He is also the co-director of the administrative core for the Gastrointestinal Specialized Program of Research Excellence grant from the National Cancer Institute.
Dr. Berlin first joined VUMC in 1999 to lead the GI cancer research program. He now serves as the associate director for clinical research at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, where he leads phase 1 research.
