Dr. Jahangir currently serves as vice chair of orthopedic surgery and director of the division of orthopedic trauma at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, according to a March 16 news release.

In addition to his roles at Vanderbilt, Dr. Jahangir has served as chair of the Metro Public Health Department board since October 2019. He was also appointed chair of the Metropolitan Nashville COVID-19 Task Force by the city’s mayor during the pandemic.

The award, which was bestowed at the academy’s annual meeting, recognizes the leadership of active fellows or candidate members who have benefited the orthopedic community, patients or the public.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 18–20 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
