Dr. Berlin currently serves as the Ingram professor of cancer research and director of the division of hematology and oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, according to an April 6 news release.
Dr. Berlin was awarded for his leadership role on an NCI team that focused on potential changes to clinical trial protocols that would increase the role of advanced practice providers to address growing oncologist shortages.
Dr. Berlin has served in a variety of leadership roles with the NCI, including chair of the pancreas cancer task force and the ECOG/ACRIN gastrointestinal committee.
