Unity Health appoints Dr. Stephanie Cox-Batson chief medical officer

Stephanie Cox-Batson, MD, has been named chief medical officer of Unity Health Care, a healthcare network treating an estimated 100,000 patients in Washington, D.C., across nearly 30 health sites.

Dr. Cox-Batson joins Unity Health from Near North Health, a federally qualified health center in Chicago where she served as chief medical officer, according to a Jan. 25 release announcing her appointment.

While in Chicago, she was also an attending physician at Northwestern Prentice Hospital’s obstetric triage unit and an associate at Northwestern Specialists for Women, where she provided obstetrics and gynecology services.
