U of Iowa Health Center creates new ‘physician executive’ role

University of Iowa Health Care has created a new chief physician executive role within their system and tapped Bevan Yueh, MD, as the inaugural appointment to the role.

The role was created to support the creation of systemwide clinical standards, particularly within its inpatient hospitals, physician groups and other “current and future sites of care, according to a May 14 UI news release. 

Dr. Yueh will also serve as a professor in the department of otolaryngology, head and neck survey within UI’s medical school. His appointment comes two weeks after UIHC opened a new $525.6 million, 469,060-square-foot inpatient hospital in North Liberty, Iowa.
