Temple University names trauma surgeon dean

Trauma surgeon Amy Goldberg, MD, was named the first female dean of Philadelphia-based Temple University’s medical school, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Sept. 29.

Dr. Goldberg had been serving as interim dean for 18 months, the report said. She oversaw the launch of diversity, equity and inclusion programming, medical education restructuring and changes in curriculum and technology. 

Dr. Goldberg has won multiple teaching awards and has been with Temple since 1993.
