Southeast Georgia Health System names Dr. Janise Whitesell 1st female chief of staff

Janise Whitesell, MD, has become the first elected female chief of medical staff in the history of Brunswick-based Southeast Georgia Health System.

Dr. Whitesell will lead the staff of the health system’s Camden campus in St. Marys, according to a Feb. 6 news release from Southeast Georgia Health. She also practices as a family medicine physician at Southeast Georgia Physician Associates Primary Care, also in St. Marys.

Dr. Whitesell joined the healthcare system in 2007.
