Scott Kozin, MD, has been promoted to chief medical officer of Tampa, Fla.-based Shriners Children’s healthcare system, according to a Jan. 23 news release from the health system.
Dr. Shriner previously served as chief of staff for Shriners Hospitals for Children and as an attending surgeon in the Hand Transplantation Program at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is also the team leader for the Touching Hands Project, the outreach arm of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
As he transitions out of clinical care, his longtime physician partners Dan Zlotolow, MD, and Eugene Park, MD, along with physician assistants and rehabilitation specialists, will continue caring for patients in Philadelphia.
Dr. Kozin will lead the Shriners Children’s Medical Group and support the organization’s efforts to improve pediatric care across its North American sites and international programs, according to the organization.
