Dr. Ledwith opened his practice in Tappahannock after receiving his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. During his practice, he also served as the medical director for Health Management Co. and founded a free clinic to serve the under-insured.
He also served as the director of University of Massachusetts Medical School’s family medicine program from 2008 to 2016.
Dr. Ledwith received numerous awards for his work, including the UMass Chan Medical School Chair’s Award for Excellence in Service, the Community Clinician of the Year from Massachusetts Medical Society, the Community Service Award from the Worcester District Medical Society and the Teacher of the Year Award from UMass Fitchburg Family Medicine Residency.
