Phoenix Children’s Hospital names director of neurology

Neil Friedman, MD, has been named director of the Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s, one of the largest pediatric neuroscience programs in the country.

Dr. Friedman has served as interim director since 2022, overseeing inpatient and outpatient neurosciences care. 

He is board-certified in neurology with 30 years of clinical experience. In his new role, he will work to increase efficiency by implementing quality efforts, transforming operational and financial strategies and strengthening relationships within the institute. 

Dr. Friedman joined Phoenix Children’s in 2019 from Cleveland Clinic, where he served in clinical and leadership roles, according to a March 27 press release. 

He also serves as director of clinical transformation at Barrow, leveraging analytics to find new ways to deliver and improve patient care.
