Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Pediatrix Medical Group has named two physician leaders to newly created quality-focused roles, according to a March 24 news release shared with Becker’s.
James Barry, MD, will join as chief clinical quality and transformation officer, responsible for shaping the organization’s medical direction and overseeing its Center for Research, Education, Quality and Safety. Dr. Barry joins from the University of Colorado Health System, where he served as medical director of a level III NICU and chair of newborn governance across 14 hospitals.
Jochen Profit, MD, will serve as chief quality advisor, providing expert guidance to Pediatrix’s affiliated clinical leaders. Dr. Profit is the Wendy J. Tomlin-Hess Endowed Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford Medicine and chairs the California Perinatal Quality Care Collaborative.
