Pardee UNC Health Care oncologist named to state advisory committee

S. Yaseen Zia, MD, a radiation oncologist at Pardee UNC Health Care in Hendersonville, N.C., has been appointed by the governor to serve on the North Carolina Advisory Committee on Cancer Coordination and Control.

The advisory counsel is focused on reducing cancer mortality in North Carolina by expanding access to treatment and maximizing quality of life for cancer survivors, according to a Jan. 23 news release from the health system. 

Dr. Zia’s appointment will take effect immediately, and he will serve until Aug. 31, 2026. Dr. Zia has been with Pardee since 2018.
