New York physician receives medal of heroism for cardiac response at Buffalo Bills game

Kevin McGee, DO, was the recipient of the Axon Rise Awards’ Jack Cover Medal of Heroism for his response to a cardiac arrest at a Buffalo Bills game, according to a March 2 report from WKBW

Dr. McGee currently serves as chief medical officer for the Erie County (N.Y.) Sheriff’s Office Division of Correctional Health and physician for the ECSO SWAT team. 

He received the national award for providing lifesaving emergency care to a cardiac arrest patient in the parking lot of Highmark Stadium during a Buffalo Bills game Jan. 2, 2022, the report said.
