Dr. Al-Khan, who was born in Bahrain, is currently vice chair and director of the maternal-fetal medicine and surgery division at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey, according to a Jan. 31 email shared with Becker’s by the hospital.
Dr. Al-Khan was the first physician in the world to perform a robotic transabdominal cerclage and delivered the oldest pregnant patient in the United States. As director of the maternal-fetal division, he oversees the first center to coordinate the care of patients with placenta accreta in the world.
