More physicians leave hospital after CEO was fired

Three physicians have left Norton (Kan.) County Hospital after the 25-bed hospital fired former CEO Brian Kirk.

Josh Gaede, MD, a family medicine physician, will resign June 30. Two other family medicine physicians resigned in early May — Miranda McKellar, MD, and Theresia Neill, MD.

Letters to notify patients are currently being sent out, according to a notice from the hospital obtained by Becker's. Reasoning for his exit was not provided.

The hospital moved to fire Mr. Kirk on May 17, who had spent January on leave due to the hospital's internal investigation. He was reinstated for a period before being terminated.
