Meet the 3 physicians on New York's 'Asian 100' list

Three physicians were included on the "New York 2023 Power of Diversity: Asian 100" list from City & State New York:

Ashwin Vasan, MD, PhD. Commissioner of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Dr. Vasan is a primary care physician and epidemiologist who has served as the 44th commissioner of the department of health and mental hygiene since March 2022. He also teaches as an assistant professor of clinical population health and medicine at Columbia University, according to LinkedIn.

Eric Wei, MD. Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer of NYC Health + Hospitals.

Dr. Wei has served as chief quality officer at NYC Health + Hospitals since January 2018, according to LinkedIn. He previously served as interim chief quality officer at LAC + USC Medical Center in Los Angeles and teaches as an adjunct professor at the NYU School of Global Public Health.

Henry Chen, MD. President and Founder of SOMOS Community Care.

Dr. Chen is a primary care physician who has practiced in New York City for over two decades. He is the president and founder of Somos Community Care, a Bronx-based network of over 2,600 healthcare professionals providing care to over 1 million patients in New York City, according to its website.
