Massachusetts physician makes 5th trip to Ukraine to help on the front lines

Hingham, Mass.-based emergency room physician Frank Duggan, MD, is making a fifth trip to Ukraine since the Russian invasion in February, ABC affiliate WCVB reported Nov. 13.

Dr. Duggan, founder and managing director of Health Care Volunteers International, has brought thousands of pounds of medical supplies to the country.

Health Care Volunteers International provides surgeries, amputations and other medical procedures to Ukrainian civilians who need them.

"The character of the individuals you're working with and their commitment to their country and to their people is just really something you don't see anywhere else, I think, in the world right now," Dr. Duggan told WCVB.
