Louisiana health system announces 2023 medical executive committee

North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, La., has appointed 10 physicians to serve on its executive committee and act as liaisons between the medical staff and the health system's board of commissioners.

Justin Fowlkes, MD, has been elected chief of staff for the 2023 term, according to a Jan. 25 release. The pulmonologist first joined North Oaks in 2017 while treating patients at North Oaks Pulmonary Clinic in Hammond.

D'Antoni Dennis, MD, will serve as chief of staff-elect and first joined North Oaks in 2013 as an otolaryngologist and member of North Oaks ENT and Allergy Clinic. Meanwhile, urologist Brad Lake, MD, and nephrologist S. Tahseen Rab, MD, were named members-at-large of the board.

Other appointments include Scott Picou, MD, as family practice chair; Rainier Batiste, DO, as medicine department chair; and Jaime Edwards, MD, as obstetrics and gynecology and pediatrics chair.

John Krieg, MD, returns for a third term as emergency department chair, and Michael Fahr, MD, will serve again as surgery department chair. Nurse practitioner Lori Meyers has been appointed as advanced practitioner appointee.
