INVO Bioscience brings on physician operator for Tampa location

Shelly Holmström, MD, will join Florida-based INVO Bioscience as the physician operator at its INVO center in Tampa, which is set to open in the first half of 2023.

INVO Bioscience is a commercial-stage fertility company focused on the expansion of the assisted reproductive technology marketplace through its flagship product, according to a Jan. 3 news release from the company. The INVOCell is a medical device designed to allow fertilization and early embryo development to take place in vivo within a patient’s body.

Dr. Holmström joins INVO with more than two decades of experience as a gynecologist. She most recently served as a professor in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa. 

She also led a full-time academic practice at USF Physicians Group for 18 years while at USF, the release said.
