Indiana State Medical Association names new president

David Diaz, MD, has been named the next president of the Indiana State Medical Association, The Hamilton County Reporter reported Sept. 15.

Dr. Diaz currently serves as a psychiatrist at IU Health in Indianapolis and Jasper, Ind. In addition, he teaches as an associate professor of clinical psychiatry at Indiana University School of Medicine, also in Indianapolis.

Dr. Diaz has been a member of ISMA since 1989. During his time with the association, he has served as chair for the ISMA board of trustees and as a member of the ISMA Commission on Legislation, the report said.

Meanwhile, William Pond, MD, was named the president-elect for the 2024-25 term.
