Election to the AAP is offered to physicians with outstanding achievements in biomedical research and is extended to up to 70 physicians a year, according to an April 24 news release. The four new members bring the total of AAP members from UCLA to 46.
The new members are Arleen Brown, MD, PhD; Patricia Ganz, MD; Tzung Hsiai, MD, PhD; and Antoni Ribas, MD, PhD. Their areas of research include improving health outcomes for patients with chronic conditions, breast cancer, cardiovascular injury and repair, and the use of immunotherapy to treat melanoma, respectively.
