Elara Caring appoints Dr. Kevin Henning chief medical officer

Kevin Henning, MD, has been appointed chief medical officer of Elara Caring, a home-based healthcare provider operating in 16 states across the Northeast, Midwest and Southwest.

Dr. Henning joins Elara Caring from TeamHealth, where he served as a medical director, according to a Jan. 10 news release from Elara Caring. His other leadership roles have included chief medical officer of US Post Acute Care in Tacoma, Wash., and national medical director for Gentiva Health Services in its hospice division.

Dr. Henning previously served in the Army, working as a brigade surgeon and earning a Meritorious Service Medal, two Army Achievement Medals, an Army Commendation Medal and an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

He also worked as a clinic director at the Family Medicine Department of Martin Army Community Hospital in Fort Benning, Ga., and as assistant chief of the emergency medicine department of the 46th Combat Support Hospital in Mogadishu, Somalia, the release said.
