Dr. Wendy Chung named Boston Children's chief of pediatrics

Wendy Chung, MD, PhD, has been selected as the next chief of pediatrics at Boston Children's Hospital. 

Dr. Chung will also serve as the Mary Ellen Avery Professor at Harvard Medical School, also in Boston, and president of the Children's Hospital Pediatric Associates, according to a Feb. 14 news release. 

She previously served as chief of the division of clinical genetics in the department of pediatrics at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital, the associate director for education at the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center, the medical director for the Columbia genetic counseling graduate program, and the precision medicine resource leader at the Irving Institute, all in New York City. 

Dr. Chung was also a Kennedy Family Professor of pediatrics in medicine and led the Chung Laboratory at Columbia University Medical Center, also in New York City. She has over 20 years of experience in clinical and molecular genetics.
