Dr. Martha Gulati named chair in women’s cardiovascular medicine and research for Cedars-Sinai

Dr. Martha Gulati has been named the Anita Dann Friedman Endowed Chair in women’s cardiovascular medicine and research for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Dr. Gulati currently serves as the director of preventive cardiology and associate director of the preventive and rehabilitative cardiac center in the Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai. She is also the associate director of the Barbra Streisand Women’s Heart Center in the department of cardiology.

Dr. Gulati first joined Cedars-Sinai in 2022 from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix, where she was a professor of medicine and chief of the division of cardiology, according to a news release shared with Becker’s Jan. 19.

She was named one of Arizona’s most influential women in 2019 by AZ Business and received the 2019 American College of Cardiology’s Bernadine Healy award for her work in the field of women’s cardiovascular health.
