Dr. Margaret Dimond named 1st female president of Sparrow health hospital in 127-year history

Lansing, Mich.-based E.W. Sparrow Hospital has named Margaret Dimond, PhD, its new president. 

Dr. Dimond will be the first female president of the hospital in its 127-year history, according to a Feb. 8 news release from Sparrow Health. 

She is currently the chief administrative officer of Naples Community Health Physician Group in Naples, Fla. She was previously president and CEO of McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Mich., president and CEO of Ascension Crittenton Hospital in Rochester, Mich., president and CEO of Karmanos Cancer Hospital in Detroit, president and CEO of McLaren Medical Group in Flint, Mich., vice president and COO of the Henry Ford Hospital Warren (Mich.) campus and vice president of ambulatory services for Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

Dr. Dimond has also served as assistant dean for the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and Physician Practice Plan.

She will replace interim president Denny Martin, DO,, who will resume his position as chief medical officer of the hospital.
