Dr. Adelson will work with UT’s chief administrative quality officer, Jose Rivera, to lead medical practice quality improvement efforts and value-based care initiatives. She will work to guide initiatives to optimize cost and quality of patient care.
She will also provide strategic oversight and support for the Institute for Cancer Care Innovation and provide leadership for the quality assessment and performance improvement council.
Dr. Adelson has served as chief quality officer and deputy chief medical officer at Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven, Conn., since 2014, according to a March 15 press release.
Dr. Adelson is a practicing medical oncologist and clinical researcher specializing in breast cancer. She has been an investigator on multiple clinical trials for early-stage and metastatic disease.
