Dr. John Jefferies appointed chief medical officer of Nuwellis

John Jefferies, MD, has been appointed chief medical officer of Nuwellis, a Minnesota-based medical technology company focusing on fluid management solutions.

Dr. Jefferies will continue to hold his roles as the Jay M. Sullivan Endowed Chair in Cardiovascular Medicine and chief of cardiology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis while serving as CMO, according to a Jan. 5 release from the company. 

Dr. Jefferies has been a member of the Nuwellis medical advisory board since 2019 and has a focus on internal medicine and pediatrics in his practice. He also sits on the editorial board of multiple medical journals.
