Dr. Danielle Mahaffey named CMO of Alamance Regional Medical Center

Danielle Mahaffey, MD, has been named chief medical officer of Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington, N.C. Alamance Regional is a member of Cone Health, which serves patients throughout the Greensboro, N.C., area.

Dr. Mahaffey joins Alamance Regional after serving as the chief physician executive at Appalachian Regional Healthcare System in Boone, N.C., since 2016, according to LinkedIn. While there, she spearheaded the healthcare system’s COVID-19 response.

Dr. Mahaffey kicked off her career as a resident at the Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro from 1996 to 1999, according to a Dec. 20 news release. She received her medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and also completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Moses Cone.
