Dr. Cheryl Rice named chief of staff of Kansas hospital

Cheryl Rice, MD, has been appointed to serve a two-year term as medical chief of staff at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville, Kan., effective Jan. 1.

Dr. Rice has been practicing general surgery in Marysville for nearly five years, according to a Jan. 25 news release. Prior to joining CMH, she practiced general surgery in Lawrence, Kan., with an emphasis on breast surgery.

In her role as chief of staff, Dr. Rice will oversee the more than 200 employees of the 25-bed critical access hospital, which is the only hospital treating patients in Marshall County.
