Dr. Carey most recently served as senior vice president and chief medical officer for Physician Enterprise at Providence. Before that, he served as the governor-appointed secretary of Health and Human Resources for the state of Virginia from January 2018 to November 2021.
Dr. Carey will begin his new role April 3, the report said.
