Dr. Higgins previously served as medical director of radiation oncology and leader of Winship Cancer Institute’s lung program at Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare, according to a Jan. 23 news release.
She also served as a member of Emory’s discovery and developmental therapeutics research program, in addition to treating patients as a physician and radiation oncologist.
In her new role, Dr. Higgins will oversee the center’s clinical care decisions and cancer care innovation and will continue to treat patients as a specialist in lung cancers, the release said.
