Cedars-Sinai names president, CEO

Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai has appointed Peter Slavin, MD, the former president at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, as its CEO and president.

Dr. Slavin most recently served as president of Mass General from 2001 to 2021, having stepped down as president that year to pursue independent healthcare investment, advising and consulting opportunities, according to a July 2 news release from Cedars-Sinai. During his tenure, he taught internal medicine at Mass General and served as a professor of healthcare policy at Boston-based Harvard Medical School. 

Dr. Slavin will step into his new position Oct. 1, according to the release. He succeeds Thomas Priselac, who is retiring after 30 years as president and CEO.
