Molecular science and technology healthcare company Caris Life Sciences has appointed George Sledge, MD, as an executive vice president and its chief medical officer.
Dr. Sledge will work on the company's medical affairs, research and medical education, according to an Oct. 14 news release from the company.
Prior to Caris, Dr. Sledge served as a professor of medicine at Stanford (Calif.) University School of Medicine.
He has served as a lab and clinical researcher and written more than 390 scientific articles.
"Caris remains at the cutting edge of precision medicine innovation and has developed the leading platform for molecular profiling and research in the industry," Dr. Sledge said in the release. "I'm excited to join the company to partner with other leading medical professionals inside and outside of the company to use these tools and insights to find new treatments and cures for cancer."
