5 physician leaders in the headlines

Here are five physician leaders in July headlines, as reported by Becker’s:

1. Guy Hudson, MD, was appointed president and CEO of Brewer, Maine-based Northern Light Health, effective in mid-October.

2. G. Duncan Finlay, MD, former physician and CEO of Sarasota (Fla.) Memorial Health Care System died at 85-years-old July 25. 

3. New York City-based NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull added two new physician leaders to its C-suite.

Hospital CEO Sandra Sneed has been restructuring the C-suite clinical team since she joined the system in late March, according to a July 22 news release. Two new leaders have joined the C-suite:

  • Wendy Wilcox, MD, was named the new chief of OB-GYN.
  • Patrick Milord, MD, was named the new chief of anesthesia.

4. Emily Chapman, MD, was appointed president and CEO of Minneapolis-based Children’s Minnesota, effective Aug. 2. She will be the hospital’s first female CEO.
