Here are four physicians that were tapped as CEOs of hospitals or health systems during the month of April, as reported by Becker’s:
1. Barry Arbuckle, PhD, CEO of Fountain Valley, Calif.-based MemorialCare for the past 24 years, will become executive chairman of the system, effective July 1. President David Kim, MD, will succeed Dr. Arbuckle as CEO.
2. Steven Hanks, MD, president and CEO of Trinity Health New York, is assuming expanded system leadership responsibilities that include Hartford, Conn.-based Trinity Health of New England.
2. John Cumming, MD, former interim CEO of Minneapolis-based Hennepin Healthcare, returned as CEO effective April 10.
4. Lucas Campbell, MD, was named incoming president and CEOof Fayetteville, Ark.-based Washington Regional Medical System. He first joined the system in 2023 as vice president and chief transformation officer. He currently serves as senior vice president of clinical enterprise and strategy.
