The biggest challenges physician practices face in 2024

Administrative work is the biggest challenge for many physician practices, according to a recent survey by MedCentral.

MedCentral surveyed 864 physicians from April 16 to May 19 about operating medical practices and changes they have made to keep their practices profitable.

Below are the five factors at least half of physicians said were “very” or “somewhat” significant challenges their practices are facing:

  1. Administrative work: 66% challenge
  2. Reimbursement issues: 57%
  3. Staffing shortages: 56%
  4. Staff turnover: 50%
  5. EHR reporting burdens: 50%
