Epic Systems is the most popular electronic health record system among physicians, according to Medscape's 2023 "Physicians and Electronic Health Records Report."
The report, published Nov. 29, comes from a survey of 1,476 physicians across over 29 specialties between March 6 and May 23.
Here are the top systems among physicians:

- Cerner: 12%
- Athenahealth: 5%
- eClinicalWorks: 4%
- Meditech: 4%
- VA CPRS: 2%
- NextGen: 2%
- Allscripts Professional: 2%
- Allscripts Enterprise: 1%
- Practice Fusion: 1%
