Dr. Deborah Edberg named chief wellness officer of Oak Street Health

Deborah Edberg, MD, has been appointed the first chief wellness officer of Chicago-based Oak Street Health, a network of primary care centers for adults on Medicare.

Dr. Edberg first joined Oak Street Health in 2019 as a family medicine physician and has been named a top doctor honoree by Chicago Magazine five years in a row. In her new role, she will work to support provider wellness, according to a Jan. 6 release from Oak Street Health.

She previously served as associate professor and the director of graduate medical education development for the Rush University Department of Family Medicine in Chicago. Dr. Edberg was also involved in the development and launch of both the Rush and the Northwestern/Erie family medicine residency programs, both located in Chicago.
