The initiative offers cash-pay telehealth for a variety of medical conditions at multiple price points based on location, wait times and quality and has contracted with four digital health startups to provide video visits and virtual messaging services across the country.
Chief Medical Officer and General Manager of Amazon Clinic Nworah Ayogu, MD, told Forbes that patients have the option to choose a low-cost provider or prioritize speed for a small additional fee for around 30 medical conditions.
Amazon Clinic has contracted with Hello Alpha and Curai Health for asynchronous care and SteadyMD for asynchronous and real-time care and is planning to start accepting insurance in the future, Dr. Ayogu told Forbes.
