Seventy-two percent of physicians in Louisiana have faced malpractice suits, according to Medscape’s “Physicians and Malpractice Report 2023.”

The report included 3,037 physicians across 29 specialties. 

Here are the states where physicians face the most malpractice suits:

Louisiana: 72%

Indiana: 68%

Kentucky: 68%

New Mexico: 67%

Pennsylvania: 66%

New York: 65%

Oregon: 64%

Missouri: 59%

South Carolina: 57%

Tennessee: 57%
