Here is how the average annual salary of plastic surgeons has evolved over the last 10 years, along with the percentage change from year to year, using the news outlet’s annual “Physician Compensation Survey” editions from 2013 to 2023. Overall, the average plastic surgeon earned $302,000 more on average in 2023 than a decade ago — an increase of 95%. 

2023: $619,000 (+7.5%)

2022: $576,000 (+9.5%)

2021: $526,000 (+9.8%)

2020: $479,000 (+1.7%)

2019: $471,000 (-6.0%)

2018: $501,000 (+13.9%)

2017: $440,000 (+23.9%)

2016: $355,000 (+.28%)

2015: $354,000 (0%)

2014: $354,000 (+11.7%)

 2013: $317,000 (+17.4%)
