Here’s what five anonymous residents said about their pay:

“Some weeks, I get paid the equivalent of $12 an hour”

“Compensation does not take into consideration a family and kids.”

“When required to work extra hours (back-up shifts), we don’t get paid more.”

“Residents get paid too little for how long the training is and how hard we work.”

“Compensation doesn’t reflect what we have to spend to do the job (commuting, childcare, etc.)”
