Biden-Harris administration looks to protect physicians providing care for LGBTQ patients

The Biden-Harris administration published a fact sheet June 8 detailing new actions to protect LBGTQ communities across the United States, with several actions focused on health.

Included in these action items is a commitment to protecting physicians who care for patients within the LGBTQ community.

“DHS and HHS will work with health care providers and medical associations to provide access to safety training and improve threat reporting to support doctors, clinics, and children’s hospitals that face increasing threats when they care for LGBTQI+ patients,” the fact sheet said.
