52% of healthcare workers feel fairly paid: Study

Fifty-two percent of healthcare employees indicated they feel fairly paid for the work they do — the lowest score of any industry studied, according to a recent report by experience management company Qualtrics.

The "Healthcare Experience Trends Report" for 2023, published Jan. 17, surveyed nearly 3,000 healthcare workers across 27 countries about their experiences in their profession, according to a news release from Qualtrics. The company surveyed employees of other industries for other versions of its experience trends report series.

Here are three additional report findings:

1. Thirty-eight percent of healthcare workers reported they feel their pay is clearly linked to their performance.

2. Sixty-one percent of healthcare workers reported they intend to stay in their job, a decrease of 4% compared to last year's respondents.

3. Thirty-nine percent of healthcare workers indicated they are considering leaving their current organization, a decrease of 4% compared to 2022.
