Michigan center appoints new chief medical officer

Muskegon, Mich.-based Hackley Community Care has appointed Byron Varnado, MD, as its new chief medical officer, Shoreline Media reported Oct. 14.

Dr. Varnado has over 20 years of experience in healthcare leadership and administration and succeeds Leslie Kingsley, DO, who is stepping down after five years as CMO to focus on patient care. 

Prior to his time at HCC, Dr. Varnado served as the medical director of Norton Shores, Mich.-based Harborwood Family Medicine for 18 years and currently serves as the medical director for Access Health, also in Muskegon.
