MetroPlusHealth names medical director of special needs plan

Dahlia Philips, MD, has been named medical director of the partnership in care special needs plan for MetroPlusHealth, a health insurer that is part of New York City-based NYC Health + Hospitals.

Dr. Philips joins MetroPlusHealth with over two decades of experience in infectious disease, acute care and critical care, according to a Feb. 13 release. She has served as an infectious disease specialist at Summit Health since 2013, specializing in infection control, HIV/AIDS and multidrug-resistant infections.

As medical director of the partnership in care special needs plan, Dr. Philips will oversee MetroPlusHealth’s effort to care for HIV-positive, transgender and homeless patients in New York City, the release said. MetroPlusHealth serves over 700,000 people in the city.
