McLaren Northern Michigan taps chief medical officer

McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey has appointed John Kennedy, MD, as chief medical officer.

Dr. Kennedy most recently served as vice president of medical affairs at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, according to a March 6 news release from Grand Blanc, Mich.-based McLaren Health Care. Dr. Kennedy has more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience.

In his new role, Dr. Kennedy, a psychiatrist, will further develop McLaren’s behavioral health program and oversee an organization’s clinical quality, the release said.

He will step into the role March 11 upon the retirement of Andrew McDonagh, MD.
